As you may have heard, some IP litigators have been in a frenzy over an unknown thorn in their side who identified himself on the internet as blogger “Patent Troll Tracker”. As it turns out, The Patent Troll Tracker, (AKA Rick Frenkel) is an IP lawyer at Cisco, and has made quite a name for himself shedding light on the dirty little secrets behind patent holding “shell companies” alleged litigation practices.
… Regardless of your own personal point of view, there is another side of this story that is appreciated by computer forensics and electronic discovery professionals: A growing trend in lawyers trying to determine the identity of anonymous individuals on the internet that are accused of some type of “misconduct”.
